PRACTICAL AI. TRUSTED KNOWLEDGE.

Practical AI for Trades, Mining & Industrial Supervisors

A practical training pathway for people who work in environments where context, judgement, confidentiality and accountability matter. Learn where AI can genuinely save time, how to get better results, and when human review must take priority.

WHO IT IS FOR

Built around real industrial work.

This is not generic office AI training. The Academy is being developed for the people who build, maintain, supervise and operate industry.

TRADES & TECHNICIANS

Practical everyday use

Communication, learning, documentation, planning and lower-consequence productivity tasks.

MINING & SUPERVISORS

Frontline leadership

Handovers, meeting preparation, information organisation, reporting support and clearer team communication.

EMPLOYERS & TRAINING PARTNERS

Workforce capability

Responsible adoption, workforce awareness, practical scenarios and a common language for human-accountable AI use.

PROGRAM STRUCTURE — DEVELOPMENT ROADMAP

A practical learning pathway, not a collection of prompts.

The program develops judgement first, then practical application. Platform-specific guidance sits underneath the core methodology so the training remains useful as individual AI products change.

MODULE 01

AI in the Real Workplace

What generative AI is, what it does not automatically know, where it can help, and why confident-looking output still requires review.

MODULE 02

How AI Gets Things Wrong

Hallucinations, unsupported assumptions, missing context, outdated information and why plausibility is not verification.

MODULE 03

Prompting for Real Work

Give AI useful context, facts, audience, objective, format and limitations without turning prompting into unnecessary jargon.

MODULE 04

Communication & Documentation

Practical applications for emails, handovers, meeting preparation, supplied-information summaries, first drafts and workplace communication.

MODULE 05

Responsible Workplace AI

Confidentiality, verification, employer requirements, professional responsibility and appropriate human review.

MODULE 06

AI Tools in Practice

How common platforms differ, how to choose an appropriate tool, and how workplace-managed accounts may differ from consumer services.

MODULE 07

Supervisor AI Workflows

Apply the learning to realistic trades, mining and industrial scenarios rather than generic office examples.

ONGOING

Platform Updates & New Workflows

Short, replaceable updates as ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini and other relevant platforms evolve.

THE ACADEMY METHOD

RISE™ keeps the human in the loop.

The framework is designed to help learners decide whether AI should be involved, give it better instructions, challenge the result, and remain responsible for final use.

R — RECOGNISEShould AI be used for this task?
I — INSTRUCTProvide context, facts, objectives and limitations.
S — SCRUTINISEChallenge facts, assumptions, omissions and uncertainty.
E — EXECUTEEdit, verify and approve. Apply professional judgement.
PLATFORM-SPECIFIC SKILLS

Core skills first. Platform guidance second.

The Academy will not lock learners into one AI brand. Core skills remain platform-neutral, while short practical guides show how the same workflow can be completed in commonly used AI systems.

CHATGPT

General-purpose AI workflows

Practical prompting, drafting, summarising supplied information, structured thinking and review techniques.

MICROSOFT COPILOT

Workplace productivity environments

Practical guidance for organisations using Microsoft tools, subject to employer configuration, permissions and policy.

GEMINI & OTHER TOOLS

Transferable skills

Apply the same core methodology across relevant AI services as products and workplace requirements evolve.

Important: A platform being commercially available does not mean it is automatically approved for your workplace or suitable for confidential, personal, commercially sensitive or proprietary information. Employer requirements and authorised systems take priority.
FOR EMPLOYERS

Build capability without losing control.

The employer opportunity is bigger than teaching staff how to write prompts. It is building a workforce that knows where AI adds value, where it creates risk, and where human authority remains essential.

  • Workforce AI awareness
  • Supervisor capability development
  • Practical workplace AI workshops
  • Responsible-use education
  • Industry-specific scenarios
  • Training and RTO partnership pathways
MEASURE WHAT MATTERS

Pilot outcomes we want to test

Does the training help people save time?

Does it improve the quality of their work?

Does it help them recognise unreliable or inappropriate AI use?

Evidence first. Scale second.

CONTROLLED PILOT

Build → Pilot → Measure → Listen → Improve → Validate → Scale.

The Academy is deliberately developing the program through controlled review and real-world feedback rather than releasing a large catalogue of untested courses.

Industry realism

Does the content sound and feel like the workplaces it is intended to serve?

Practical value

Can participants apply the learning to useful lower-consequence tasks immediately?

Behaviour change

Do participants become better at questioning AI output, verifying important information and retaining human accountability?

TRAINING STATUS

Clear about what this training is—and what it is not.

AI Trades & Mining Academy is developing practical industry AI education. The Academy does not represent current Academy courses as nationally recognised training or claim RTO status unless and until an appropriate authorised arrangement exists.

The training is educational and does not replace legislation, workplace systems, site requirements, engineering judgement, competent-person review, statutory responsibilities or employer-approved procedures.
